Change settings for tapping workpiece in only one direction.

Use the same machine, toolholder, tool and material settings as you did for tapping the cutter.

1. Click Setup
2. Click MEASURE tab the click on the X Direction Response Direction box changing it from and "x" to a "-"
3. You will see the graphic change with the accelerometer on the same side as the hammer.  
4. Next uncheck the box for the Y-Direction so Millmax won't ask you for the second axis measurement. Click OK to save.

Don't for get to change the settings back when you are finished.

Affix the accelerometer in the area that you are having chatter and tap the hammer right next to it.

Generate a dashboard and compare it to the tool's dashboard using Virtual Runoff or just by looking at both dashboards. Find a speed that is green on both.
