Installing or Updating Sensor File

Each kit has a specific calibration file for its hammer and accelerometer. We call this the sensor file or sensor database. Each user of a kit must install this sensor file one time. It is vital to produce accurate tap-test measurements. If you need to replace either a hammer or accelerometer at some point in the future, you will need to update the sensor file.

The following video shows how to install or update the sensor database file:

1. Open a web browser.

2. Type in your personal kit's webpage where it ends with the last three digits of your dongle (e.g. www.taptest.co/396)

3. Find the metalmaxsensordb.xml file (this is your kit's unique sensor calibration file)

4. Right click on the metalmaxsensordb.xml icon.

5. Click on "Save as" (or it might say "Save Link as")

6. Click on "Desktop"

7. Click "Save" Button

8. Close browser

9. Open MillMax (you don't need the dongle for this)

10. Click on "Open Database Folder" button

11. Click on and drag metalmaxsensordb.xml file into folder

12. Click on "Replace the file in the destination"

13. Close the folder and you are done.
