The Update Dongle app is used by MSC IT to finalize the bi-monthly renewals of your dongles. It is automatically performed during the update push, but a sometimes a small percentage of dongles fail to update, likely due to the laptop being offline. In those rare cases, we will have you click on the Update Dongle icon to complete the update.
If your dongle is updated and you click on the Update Dongle icon it may do nothing or give you an error message that says "Unknown Serial Number". Disregard this. To check if your dongle is currently functioning, open MillMax and click on DCC or Publish DCC. If it starts to generate a dashboard your dongle is working.
